J.D. Gibby, 62, of Andrews passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at his residence. He was a native of Andrews, but worked in High Point, North Carolina in the textile industry for many years before returning to Andrews in 1998. J.D. enjoyed hunting, especially with his brother, Ted and his nephews.

He was the son of the late Harrison B. and Aline Hicks Gibby. He was also preceded in death by a son, Perry Wayne Gibby; and six sisters and brothers.

Surviving are his wife, Patsy Gibby; a daughter, Tammy Solis of Franklinville, North Carolina; a sister, Louise Birchfield and husband, Jerry of Andrews; a brother, T.A. “Ted” Gibby and wife, Billie Rae of Robbinsville, North Carolina; and three grandchildren, Koryn, Cristian, and Chase.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
