Betty Freeland Coe, 66, of Dallas, GA, formerly of Clay County, died Monday, January 12, 2004 at the residence of her daughter. A native of Clay County, Betty had lived in Marietta, GA before moving to Dallas, where she had lived most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Everette and Mae Mosteller Mull and the wife of the late Aubrey Freeland, who died in 1997. She had worked in a manufacturing warehouse and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Ryan Nicole Jones; a sister, Dorothy Mull; and a brother, William Mull.
Surviving are her husband, Jerry Coe; three daughters, Barbara Havron and husband, Will of Newland, NC, Peggy Jones and husband, Chuck and Shirley Prosser and husband, Lonny all of Rockmart, GA; a step-daughter, Dorothy Sands of Carrollton, GA; a step-son, Kenneth Coe of Dallas, GA; three sisters, Minnie Charles of Ranger, GA, Artie Guffie of Dallas, GA, and Ruby McCray of Hayesville; five brothers, Gordon Mull of Washington State, Willard, Garland, and Kenneth Mull all of Hayesville, and Garnett Mull of Canton, OH; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 15, 2004 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Revs. Ricky Burrell and Olan Crowe officiating. Burial was in the Mosteller Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jesse and Johnathan Mire, Lucas, Marvin, and Shane Mull, and Jason Rhinehart.
The family received friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville.
