Gail Trahan Charles, 75, of Murphy passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017 at her residence. She was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, but lived most of her life in Fort Pierce, Florida before moving to Murphy in 2010. She worked for 16 years with her husband, Roger Charles in his business, Charles-Redi-mix. She enjoyed living her life with her husband. She loved her family and had a passion for all animals.
She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Marie Louise Roth Trahan. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Debra Marie Pelous and Charlene Louise Wiggs; two sisters, Lana Faucheaux and Sheila Faucheaux; and two brothers, Dale and Hampton Faucheaux.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Roger Charles; a daughter, Diane M. Cook and husband, Michael R. of Stuart, Florida; three sons, Dennis M. Pelous of Marrero, Louisiana, Christopher L. Pelous of Clermont, Florida; and Roger Dale Charles II and wife, Charlotte of Murphy; a step-son, Dale Charles and wife, Ginger of Charlotte, North Carolina; a sister, Karen F. Bernard of Kenner, Louisiana; a brother, Leroy Faucheaux of Westwego, Louisiana; 14 grandchildren, Stacy, John, Maggie, Jonathan, Steven, Crystal, Jasmine, Christina, Sabrina, David, Tavian, Tara, Brandon, and Daniel; many great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 7, 2017 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Rev. Eddis Dockery officiating. The interment was in Bellview Community Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steven Flynn, Dale Charles, Chris and Dennis Pelous, Michael Cook, and Billy Fields.
The family received friends from 12-1:45 Saturday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.
