Samuel Huffman, 82, of Hayesville died Monday, January 26, 2004 at his residence. A native of Clay County, Samuel had lived in High Point and Greensboro, NC before returning to Clay County in 1993. He was the son of the late Barry Abraham and Lena Hodge Huffman. He was a retired tree surgeon and he attended the Tusquittee Church of God.

Surviving are two sons, Marvin Hoffman and Nolan Huffman both of Hayesville; a brother, Lyle Huffman of Archdale, NC; and four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 28 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Rev. Kurt Ledford officiating. Graveside services were held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 29 in the Moss Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family received friends from 5:30-6:45 Wednesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.
