James Lee Ledford, 78, of Hayesville passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 in a Clay County care facility. He was a native of Clay County, but spent his working life in Doraville, Georgia before returning to Clay County in 2016. He served in the United States Army. James had a strong faith in God and was of the Baptist faith. He loved his family, who surrounded him in his time of passing.

He was the son of the late Turner Carl and Bonnie Ruth Gibson Ledford. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Eva Ree Wright; and a brother, Adam “Bud” Ledford.

Surviving are a daughter, Phyllis Miller and husband, Ronnie of Lillian, Alabama; two sons, Tony Ledford of Atlanta, Georgia and Randall Ledford and wife, Delphia of Woodstock, Georgia; two brothers, Lawrence Ledford of East Point, Georgia and R.L. Ledford of Hayesville; four grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
