Jamie Baker, 50, of Hiawassee, Georgia died Saturday, October 8, 2005 at her residence. A native of Towns County, but she had grown up in Clay County before moving back to Towns County. She was the daughter of James R. McClure of Hiawassee, GA, and Patsy Henley Smith of Sophia, NC. She was a homemaker and was of the Christian faith. Jamie enjoyed the outdoors.

Surviving are a daughter, Heather Varner of Boone, NC; three sisters, Rhonda McClure, Marsha Woodmansee, and Tammy Schmidt, all of Sophia, NC.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 12 in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with Rev. Curtis Ledford officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Bradshaw, Randy Hicks, Ethan Cantrell, and Randy McConnell.

The family received friends from 12-1:45 Wednesday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.
