Bertha Rogers, 89, of Murphy died Saturday, March 6, 2010 in Murphy Medical Center. She was a native of Berrien County, GA, but had lived most of her life in Cherokee County. She had worked as a housekeeper for the Regal Hotel for many years. Bertha was a member of the Old Fashioned Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Claude and Minnie Lou Mundy Ponder and the wife of the late Aud Rogers, who died Nov. 30, 1966. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Bobby Joe, Ronald Alan, and Charles Edward Rogers; and a daughter-in-law, Gloria Rogers.

Surviving are a son, Tommy Rogers of Murphy; two grandchildren, Crystal Rogers and Pamela Hook; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 9 in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Rev. L.B. Adams officiating. Interment was in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Union County, GA. Pallbearers were Gabriel Lloyd, Ernest Hall, Dennis Ashe, Steven Donaldson, Brian Wheeldon, and Jason Murrin.

The family received friends from 12:30-1:45 Tuesday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.
