Harriet Inez Thompson, 92, passed away Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010 at the Valley View Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was formerly of Lynn, IN. She was born October 29, 1917 in Henderson County, KY, the daughter of Francis A. and Marie Catherine Schurbrock.

Harriet was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother; loving her grandchildren around her. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener. She was always faithful to Christ and her church in Winchester, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank, who died in 1991; two sons, Dale and Robert; and a daughter, Kathy.

Harriet leaves to cherish her memory a son, Joseph Thompson and wife, Ruth Ann of Murphy; a sister, Barbara Ach of Richmond, IN;  a brother, Jody Schurbrock of Centerville, IN;  and six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.

A celebration of Harriet’s life was held at 2:00 PM Thursday, Oct. 28 at Thomas Memorial Chapel of Lynn, IN with Pastor Greg Pruitt officiating. Interment was at Willow Grove Cemetery in Fountain City, IN.

The family received friends from 5-7 Wednesday evening at the Thomas Memorial Chapel.
