Anna L. Foley, 79, of Hayesville died Thursday, May 31, 2012 in a Clay County care facility. She was a native of Estill County, Kentucky but lived in Hamilton, Ohio from 1955 until she moved to Clay County in 2000. She volunteered with Safe Organization in Hiawassee, GA and Meals on Wheels in Clay County. She was of the Catholic faith.
She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ala Richardson Lynch, and wife of the late Thomas W. Foley, who died December 22, 2000.
Surviving are a son, Gary T. Foley and wife Phyllis of Hayesville; a brother, Paul Lynch and wife Elaine of Cincinnati, OH; two grandchildren, Debra Foley and Michael Foley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass was held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 5 in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father George Kloster officiating. Interment was in the Hayesville First United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Foley, Shannen and Scott Lynch, Bob Siegle, Doug Daley, and Jim Catron.
The family received friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Clay County Food Pantry, PO Box 853, Hayesville, NC 28904.
