Weyman Earl Touchton, 90, of Hayesville passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013 in a Georgia medical facility. Earl was a native of Valdosta, GA and had lived in Hillsborough County, FL before moving to Hayesville 30 years ago. Earl was a veteran of WWII, serving in the United States Navy. He retired as a stationary engineer with Chevron Asphalt Company. Earl was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.

Earl was the son of the late Alan J. and Virgie Arnold Touchton and the husband of the late Doris T. Drew Touchton, who died in 1994.

Surviving are two sons, William Touchton of Roxboro, NC and Nick C. Touchton of St. Petersburg, FL; and three grandchildren, Dr. Jason Touchton MD, Kim Bester, and Ashley Touchton.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, May 14 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Rev. Jim Payne officiating. Interment was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites conducted by the United States Navy. Pallbearers were Mark Stiles, Donald Woodard, Ronnie Burch, Ed Patterson, Bud Jones, and Chad Plemmons.

The family received friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville.
