Jenny Lou Long, 91, of Hayesville died Thursday, August 15, 2013 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County. She retired after several years working for the Clay County School System. She was a member of the Ledford’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Holt K. and Annie Mae Jones Patton and the wife of the late Frank R. Long, who died March 15, 1970. She was preceded in death by four brothers.
Surviving are a daughter, Dixie Hicks and husband, Theron of Fayetteville, GA; two sisters, Mattie Hall of Hayesville and Willette Hooper of Morganton, GA; and two brothers, Dickie Patton of Hayesville and Burgess Patton of Atlanta, GA.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 17, 2013 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Rev. Jackie Sellers officiating. Interment was in Ledford’s Chapel United Methodist Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles J., Anthony R., and Timothy L. Hall, R.L. Nelson, Thomas Hooper, and Chris Patterson.
The family received friends from 12-1:45 Saturday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.
