James Robert “Bobby” Reynolds, 75, of Hayesville died Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at his residence. He was a native and lifetime resident of Clay County. He served in the United States Army from 1956-1957. Bobby retired after many years as a heavy equipment operator for Butch Thompson Enterprises of Marietta, GA. He was of the Christian faith. In his spare time, Bobby enjoyed riding his motorcycle and fishing.
He was the son of the late Harley James and Leah Ann Bell Reynolds and the husband of the late Minnie Brown Reynolds, who died January 4, 1984. He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Amanda Chastain and Jessica Carlan; two sisters, Palace Anderson and Jean Maney; and a brother, Quinton Reynolds.
Surviving are four daughters, Debbie Davenport, Lynn Carlan, and Michelle Rhinehardt and husband, Jason all of Hayesville, and Lee Ann Hodges and husband, Chad of Warne; his loving companion of many years, Laura Brown of Warne; a sister, Genevieve Hogsed of Hayesville; a brother, Johnny Reynolds and wife, Hope of Warne; and five grandchildren, Shickeytha Chandler, Christopher and Kyle Rhinehardt, and Mariah and Reid Hodges.
A memorial service was held at 2:00 PM Saturday, Aug. 24 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Rev. Stanley McConnell officiating.
The family received friends from 12-1:50 Saturday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.
