Bonnie Hawkins, 100, of Lynchburg, TN, formerly of Murphy, died Thursday, June 5, 2014 in a Palmetto, FL care center. She was a native of Clay County, but moved to Rome, GA in 1986 and then Lynchburg, TN before moving to Florida a year ago. Bonnie had worked in the healthcare, child care, and food service businesses. Bonnie was of the Baptist faith.
She was the daughter of the late William M. and Hattie Cornelia Duncan Henson and the wife of the late Clyde Rollin Hawkins, who died December 24, 1963.
Surviving are a daughter, Norma Lee Kisida of Bradenton, FL; two sons, Wayne Randolph Hawkins of Lynchburg, TN and Charles Vincent Hawkins of Rome, GA; six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 8, 2014 in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Rev. Gerald McGaha officiating. Interment was in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kenneth and Todd Kisida, Wayne, Randy, and Charles Hawkins, and Ferrell McCallie.
The family received friends from 1:00-1:45 Sunday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.
