George “Sonny” Bush, 75, of Andrews passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015 in an Asheville hospital. He was a native and lifetime resident of Andrews.  He had served in the United States Army. Sonny had worked for Baker Furniture for over thirty years before retiring. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

 

He was the son of the late Horace and Bertha Mae Solesbee Bush and the husband of the late Callie Hedrick Bush, who died April 3, 2002.

 

Surviving are a daughter, Heather Clapper and husband, Tim of Sorrento, Florida; two sons, Shane Bush of Andrews, and Chris Bush of Auburndale, Florida; a sister, Gail Davis and husband, Jack of Andrews; a brother, Horace “Skip” Bush and wife, Sue of Mills River, North Carolina; and two grandchildren, Haley and Evan Clapper.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 29th in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews with Rev. Donald Watkins officiating. The interment was in Peachtree Community Cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul Brooks, Terry Truett, Duane Mathis, Chuck Davis, Tommy Howard, and Steve Jones. Honorary pallbearers were James Hamilton, Alex Jones, and Chandler Jones.

 

The family received friends from 12:30-1:45 Sunday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews prior to the service.

Sonny was a very good man, but it was his turn to go see Jesus. Rest In Paradise friend.
