Barbara Wittmer, 68, of Hayesville died Thursday, April 14, 2016. She was a native of Wayne County, Michigan, but lived in Florida most of her life before moving to Hayesville 16 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hayesville First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir.

Surviving are her husband of 34 years, David E. Wittmer; a daughter, Dawn Mancuso of Saint Petersburg, Florida; her mother, Nena Wadley Harris of Cedar Keys, Florida; two brothers, Bruce Findley of Orlando, Florida and Johnny Baylor of Chuluota, Florida; and two grandchildren, Jake and Madeline Mancuso.

A memorial service will be at a later date in Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Barbara Wittmer to the Hayesville First United Methodist Church, PO Box 85, Hayesville, NC 28904.
