Dexter V. Hodges, 58, of Hayesville passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in a Buncombe County, North Carolina hospital. He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Dexter worked in various manufacturing facilities and also worked as a carpenter. Dexter was proud that he had obtained his pilot’s license.

He was the son of the late Robert Van and Rachel Martin Hodges.

Surviving are his wife, Nan Hodges; a sister, Sharon Hollifield and husband, John of Hayesville; a brother, Chad Hodges and wife, Lee Ann of Warne; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
