Joy Schuck Nickerson, 75, of Andrews passed away Monday, December 25, 2017 in a Chattanooga, Tennessee hospital. She was a native of Stamford, Connecticut and later resided in Fort Pierce, Florida before moving to Andrews in 2010. Joy was a registered radiology technologist and had also worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Nulle in North Georgia. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Andrews. Joy enjoyed making quilts and was known for her crafting skills.

 

She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Sylvia Lynn Lanzetta Hykin and the wife of the late David Schuck.

 

Surviving are her current husband, Henry Abbott Nickerson; a daughter, Kimberly Schuck of Andrews; a son, Todd Schuck of Hayesville; a brother, Craig Hykin and wife, Hillary of Colorado; a sister-in-law, Patricia Schuck Burley of Andrews; and several nieces.

 

A memorial service was held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 5, 2018 in the United Methodist Church of Andrews with the Rev. Mary Brown officiating.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Joy Schuck Nickerson to the Valley River Humane Society, PO Box 658, Murphy, NC 28906.

I am so sorry to hear of this loss for my father in law Henry. I know she was a joy in many ways in his life. God bless them both.
