Elizabeth Postell Trantham, age 80, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018. She was born June 2, 1937, in Andrews, North Carolina. She was united in marriage to Howard Trantham on October 3, 1954. They were blessed with 63 loving years together. They were longtime members of the First Baptist Church of South Lyon, Michigan. She will always be remembered as a beautiful, kind, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Howard; her daughter, Karen Schluentz and husband, Dan; two grandsons, Anthony and Tyler; three sisters, Dale Garrison of Hayesville, North Carolina, Becky Cutshaw of Andrews, and Susan Guffey and husband, Steve of Knoxville, Tennessee; three brothers, George Postell and wife, Trish, Pat Postell and wife, Margie, and Jack Postell and wife, Glenda, all of Andrews; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Friday, January 12, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of South Lyon, 60820 Marjorie Ann St., South Lyon, Michigan. She was laid to rest in South Lyon Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dan, Anthony, and Tyler Schluentz, Terry Trantham, Josh Postell, and Steven Rakes.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 11, from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home, 122 W. Lake St., South Lyon.
