I enjoyed working with Brooks. He was a smart man and knew furniture very well, just like fishing. Please find comfort in Jesus words at John 5:28, 29....." Do not be amazed.......th ere will be a resurrection of the dead......."
Also, at Psalm 37:29 " The meek shall possess the earth and live forever on it"
Imagine seeing the fulfillment of this Bible promise, seeing Brooks again, fishing!

I think this is really going to hit me the next time I make it up to the lake. It was 20 some years ago as a 10 year old kid I started hanging out on the back porch with Brooks and the guys telling fishing stories and lies. We’d sit back there for hours to watch the bass swim by, toss bread balls down to the brush pile, and discuss everything from current events to politics to the latest fishing gimmick that would catch more fishermen than fish. I’ll never forget those times and I hope that some day I can come close to being an influence on the next generation of fishermen like Brooks was to me and the other kids. I know that there are hawgs in Heaven so I’ll wish my friend Brooks tight lines and calm seas till we meet again.

Much love and prayers for the Brooks family. He was such a wonderful man. He always had a smile on his face, always greeted you with a big hello and great story to tell. Brooks always helped my mom and dad, whenever they needed it, when we lived next door. He was an amazing fisherman and and all around genuine person. So blessed to have crossed paths with him, so many years ago. God Bless you Brooks, RIP my friend. Love, Stephanie

Saddens us too hear of Brooks passing. He was certainly a legend here in Nantahala. He was such and inspiration too so many young people in the community who would visit him and listen too all his tales or did some fishing, He will be greatly missed by all who knew him,
