Marilyn Arlene Cook Bulkley, 89, of Murphy passed away Monday, August 27, 2018 in a Chattanooga, Tennessee hospital. She was a native of Bayside, New York. She graduated from Beaver College, a Presbyterian girls’ liberal arts school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, majoring in languages. She attended the Latin American Institute and worked as a translator for a pharmaceutical company in the medical department. Marilyn moved to Murphy in 2006. She was a real estate agent in California, Florida, and Texas. Marilyn was proud of her Scottish heritage. Marilyn was a member of the Murphy Presbyterian Church. She volunteered at the Resurrection House in Sarasota, Florida for the homeless and various animal shelters including in Murphy along with Guardian Ad Litem. She was s a lifetime member of the Women’s Junior League.
She was the daughter of the late Peter Theodore and Margaret Simpson Cranston Bulloch Cook.
She is survived by many friends.
A memorial service was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 3, 2018 at the Murphy Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Chris Flick officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Marilyn Arlene Cook Bulkley to Logan’s Run Rescue, 3000 US Highway 64 West, Suite 118, Murphy, NC 28906.
