Johnny Wayne Garrison, 70, of Hayesville passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Clay County Care Center after an extended illness. He was a native and lifetime resident of Clay County. He was owner of his own construction business and was a member of Mission Hill Baptist Church.

He was the son of Esta Nichols Garrison and the late Fred Lewis Garrison and the husband of the late Mildred Chastain Garrison, who died February 5, 2011. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Anna Jo Dailey; and a brother, Glen Garrison.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two daughters, Debbie Woody and Dinah Duckworth, both of Hayesville; and four grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.

A memorial service was held at 6:00 PM on Friday, September 9th at Moss Memorial Baptist Church with Revs. Charles Shelton and Eddie Duckworth officiating.

The family received friends from 5:00-5:45 Friday evening at the Moss Memorial Baptist Church prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial be made in memory of Johnny Wayne Garrison to the Moss Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, PO Box 1198, Hayesville, NC 28904.
