William Gene Burch, 74, of Murphy died Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in a Murphy healthcare facility.  He moved to Murphy in 2005 from Tampa, FL. He retired September 25, 1978 from the United States Navy. William was also a member of the Corydon, IN American Legion.

He was the son of the late Ralph Raymond and Chloe Tedford Burch and was preceded in death by a son, Derrick; a sister, Louise; and a brother, Lawrence.

Surviving are his wife, Chong Cha Burch; a daughter, Tina Louise Attig of Corydon, IN; a son, Douglas R. Burch of Salah, WA; and two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
