Michael Anthony DiMartino, 48, of Andrews died Sunday, May 13, 2012 at his residence. He was a native of Willow Grove, PA, but had moved to Fort Pierce, FL in 1989 before moving to the Cherokee County area in 1999. Mike worked as a diesel mechanic and he worked for Arrendale’s Automotive while living in North Carolina. He was of the Presbyterian faith. Mike was a wonderful father to all six of his children and a great mentor and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and fishing, hunting, and riding his motorcycles.

He was the son of Mary DiMartino of Cookeville, TN and the late Anthony Thomas DiMartino and was preceded in death by a sister, Susan DiMartino.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are three daughters, Katie Moore and husband, Michael of Mineral Bluff, GA, Maria DiMartino of Jacksonville, FL, and Gabrielle DiMartino of Murphy; three sons, Michael DiMartino of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Nick DiMartino and wife, Sweta and Bobby DiMartino and wife, Amanda all of Murphy; his loving companion, best friend, and caregiver for almost five years, Susie Bryant; a sister, Christine Hicks and husband, Mark of Philadelphia, PA; a brother, Tony DiMartino and wife, Mary of Philadelphia; and four grandchildren, Dakoda and Kolson Moore, Aiden DiMartino, and Jemma DiMartino.

A memorial service was held at 6:00 PM Saturday, May 19, 2012 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Rev. Bo Phillips officiating.

The family received friends from 5-5:45 Saturday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of Mike's family during this difficult time. It is with sadness you say goodbye, but know that eternity awaits and you will be with him again. God's plan is perfect and absolute, whether we understand it or not. Peace be with you.
